CELLULAR SOUTH TV

A campaign I art directed for Cellular South, which is supposedly the largest privately-owned telecom company in the U.S. Superb animation by Nathan Love out of NYC, who patiently worked with me on numerous character revisions and edits during the course of the project.

GET TO KNOW 'EM TV CAMPAIGN

Here are spots that I did with writer Rob Franks while we were at Hunt Adkins. The players were virtual unknowns, so we gave them exaggerated traits to turn them into modern tall-tales and thusly gave people a reason to care about the unproven squad.

TIMBERWOLVES BRAND BOOK

This was the first project I worked on for the Timberwolves, and was intended to define the look and feel for all of the new brand work to follow. The brand book came with a CD and PDF that defined type treatments, textures backgrounds, photo treatments and anything else you would need to create visuals in the new style.

TIMBERWOLVES SKYWAY OOH

Some examples of large backlit posters featuring the Timberwolves players done in the new style.

VOLT STUDIOS

VOLT is a local video post-production house that we worked with frequently at Martin Williams. I made this new logo for them, as well as some examples of video treatments for their countdown screens and other in-house visual needs. They had specifically cited the movie "Metropolis" as a source of visual inspiration for this project.

RESISTANCE FIGHTER

Agriculture isn't the most exciting subject matter, but I like how this campaign turned out from a visual standpoint. Resistance Fighter is a campaign to raise awareness about new weeds that are becoming chemically resistant to Glyphosate (Roundup). This campaign was intended to look like resistance propaganda fused with farmer stuff.

SUBARU RALLY LOGO EXPLORATION

Some rough comps I did for an agency in Japan. Subaru was looking for a logo to mark a milestone in rally victories. The eventual logo was supposed to include the phrase, "Merging Driver & Technology For 50 Victories", which always sounded like borderline Engrish to me.

NORTHERN TOOL + EQUIPMENT CATALOG

This was an example of a tonal exploration for some new NT+E Catalog covers. These were an attempt to reflect/glamorize the lifestyle of the average NT+E customer, not unlike the way classic Cabella's catalog covers have done over the years, except way grungier and more hard-workin'-er. All the art here is obviously placeholder stuff, we would have arranged photo shoots or illustrations as needed.

NORTHERN TOOL + EQUIPMENT HUMMER

Working on a brand like NT+E was basically an exercise in designing completely random stuff. The vast majority of the work never got produced, but this Hummer wrap did. I generally hate doing vehicle wraps, but I like how this one turned out.
